How to convince my dad to let me get a horse?
I know how much it costs i know everything so don't say anything about that. Anyway http://www.tonayafarm.net/Lightning.php is the one i want i will work of the boarding they provide the hay,feed,water... The only problem is my parents don't want to buy the horse. They know how special this would be to me yet they don't care they say he's to expensive so really my question is how to convince my parents and how to make some money to pay for some of him i want to raise like $3000 dollars by summer yes i know that's hard but still $2000 will be for paying the horse the other $1000 is emergency's and paying for the supplies (saddle bridle pads...) so any ideas of how to raise money and how to convince my parents?
answer:
Make and excel worksheet and persuasive essay about owning a horse. (that's what i did) You can also put up ads for horse care, babysitting, pet sitting, or any other talents you have. For example you could advertise that you can walk or turnout peoples horses :) And make sure all your relatives know about your goals, for example, instead of the designer sweater, can I have money for my horse fund? lol :P pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

By the way that horse is gorgeous!! And I'm western so that's saying something lol :)

To the other person, I'm in high school now, so I know from experience that if you're truly passionate enough to save the money for your own horse, you aren't going to lose interest that quickly!

Good luck!

Already been through this lol :)
You can take jumping lessons. I did. Do you think that your parents are just being mean and telling you no? They are probably telling you the truth that they can't afford one. Horses are extremely expensive. How are you going to raise all this money? Babysitting doesn't pay that well. The best advice is to lease a horse or take lessons. Then if you can maintainn paying that yourself then convincingg your parents to get one shouldn't be to hard.

Had horses for years.
dog walking, babysitting, raking leaves, shovel snow (if you get snow where you are), ask for horse fund gifts instead of presents

see if there is any chance that the farm would lease the horse too

do you have living grandparents--if so, ask them for ideas too

Good luck with your project.
The problem is, that over time you are going to lose interest in horses and will most likely be dating, hanging with your friends and concentrating on high school. Then who is going to take care of the horse?
Draw horses

Why don't you try for a lease agreement, and see how that goes.
first off.

for a first horse, most reccomend a horse 8 or over as they are not fully mature yet.
Do you take riding lessons?

there are many partboard options for 100-300 a month which you could have anywhere from 1-5 rides a week with options to show..

i think that would be much more acceptible thing to ask your parents..

you reallllllllllllly shouldnt rush something like this, its as serious as buying a house, actually more because its a living being.

but you are verry young even for that.

im 21, just looking into my first horse now... and not rushing anything
Look, you're a kid and you're not the one who'd be fully 100% responsible for a 1000 aminal that can live for 30+ years.

When I was 12 I wanted parrot. My parents refused to get me one. I had one all picked out. did I get one? no. I got a dog instead.

Ask for something that they might agree with like riding lessons or a lease if YOU can pay for it with a part time job.

Not old enough for a part time job? Or to drive yourself to the barn every day to exchange barn chores for the lease?

Then just be happy to get riding lessons if your parents will pay for that and wait til you're able to get yourself what you want on your own.

sometimes, you have to accept the fact that you can't always get everything you want when you want it.
