Am I too tall for this horse?
I currently have a 16hh appy. I weigh 112 lbs and I am 5'6. Everyone says I look fine on him, but I can't decide. Also, there's this 16hh Hanoverian that I'm looking into getting.. Would I look too tall on him? I'm not growing anymore haha.

answer: There is a fashion for tall horses and people have started to think that it is normal to be perched on top of a huge horse. Don't look at your upper body, look at your leg. Your whole leg should be able to touch the horses side and your lower leg should be next to the lower ribs/belly. 16hh sounds plenty big enough and if they are well built you may find the barrel too big.

I think you're absolutely fine, and don't look awkward at all, but personally I'd appreciate something bigger. 17.2hh is my favourite height, and I'm 2 inches taller than you. But there's always a bit of margin in there! And at 5'6 you wouldn't be awkward with 16hh.
I own a 15.1hh TB and I am the same height as you. I only weigh 7 and-a-half stone though. He's fitted me perfectly since I was 13. So I'm guessing you'll be ok. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Love the horse that you have. Trading horses, especially trading ones that are the same size, is an example of the grass is greener on the other side of the fence syndrome.
i think you'll be fine. I'm 5'8" and ride horses like that. maybe ask the person you are getting him from if you will definitely be ok. Every horse is different.
to big for him, your smaller than me (height wise) and im just a little under you weight wise. but i ride a 13.2hh and a 15.2hh mostly and also others. you are fine for 16hh horses !!!! xx
Holy goodness! That's the perfect size... My two year old filly is 16.1hh and I'm 5'5'' and it looks right... You'd be great :)
i would say definatly.. im about 5'9 and both of my horses are 15hh. although i always have liked taller horses thought, lol :)
