I am 17 years old, been riding since I was 11, but always been around horses. I was scared of them when I was younger because they were bigger then me. I started out with an old arabian mare, then her first colt who sadly coliced, followed by a Quarter Horse/Arabian cross but I didn't get along well with her. Finally I got my Appaloosa/Colorado Rangerbred mare because she was fast, but she took to fox hunting rather then barrel racing. I bought this filly, Docs Scenic Hancock, a.k.a. Bobby December of 2008. She was broke out by one of my ex boyfriends and his brother on a cow ranch. She is a registed coming 4 y/o chestnut with lots of chrome. She is my best friend, helps me relieve stress, truely cares about me, I ride her english, western, bareback, bridle or halter. She fell in an over wetted arena and broke my foot, I freaked out about her safety do to a confromation default in her front legs. After going to the hospital and getting a splint when I got home I wanted to see her before my mom put her up (I was on cruches, hard to open gates) When she stepped down off the trailer she dropped her head in my arms and just gave me this "I love you, I'm sorry" look. I rode twice with a hot pink cast, and even had people comment on what a great horse she is at her age to be balanced and controllable enough to have such an unbalanced rider as I was. She loves the barrels, and knows exactly where they are at my best friends for practice. She gets excited but is still controllable, and is running 18's to 20's depending on the size and ground. She has champion cow blood in her, but hopefully 2 weeks from now will be her first actual competitive run on barrels. Wish me luck! :)
I have a 14.2 Arabian Mare that may be small but she can kick some major butt :) I am 14 and compete through 4H and Fun shows at my barn. Penny, my horse, is 14 years old and we haven't gotten any ribbons yet but it was our first year of showing. Here is a picture of us last year on Halloween (kinda old sorry!)

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm52/…http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm52/…She was a rescue and came with her baby, Shes 10, Quarter horse mix, She runs barrels like shes done it her whole life!! Built like a rock! Can be a bit testy at times you just gotta know what you are doing and she is a great ride! We dont compete or anything because where i live there is literally like no place to compete anywhere. i just have a place at my house and barrels but she really could be something if we did compete.
I love her to death!
And why are you doing this?
