Would you rather be country or a city slicker?

This question shows you how ignorant people can be about living in the country. And yes, I did get kinda mad at the person who asked the question. But I love toughguy's answer.

Just 2 things to make you laugh (city people in the country and country people in the city):

My sister breeds sheep, and every city person that's seen them is either scared of them (she has a ram that people should be scared of, but the ewes are nice) or are extremely excited to see a sheep. And they're even more excited when they get to pet them.

Also my whole family is scared of escalators. We're like Buddy off of Elf. So whenever we go somewhere with escalators, people point and laugh.
Country all the way! I've always lived in the country - we hunt and eat everything we take (yes, we go to stores when we need to, but when hunting season's open, we're out every weekend), drive big diesel trucks, ride horses, move cows, and listen to country (not the new pop country crap, only the old good country). I've raised every farm animal you can think of, and eaten them as well (not the horses ;-). We four wheel, go mudding, drink beer and whiskey, and ride dirtbikes. That's who I am, but I don't push it on people. What I don't like is people like that girl thinking she knows it all - she says she doesn't like "hicks" telling her what they do , well, isn't she telling them what she does? She likes the city - so what. I hate the city, she can live there is she wants - you won't catch me living there! All that traffic, people always around you ... I like going hunting and feeling nature and seeing the stars at night!

By the way - LOVE the escalator comment! When we do go into the city, I feel really out of place ... It's quite funny! I hate elevators - scare the crap out of me!
You could say I'm in the middle, I wouldn't like to be in the extremity of either.

I live in Ireland. I don't live in the city but I don't live far out in the countryside either.

There are plenty of amenities nearby and I'm about 40 mins from the city centre, so it's not like living in the back of beyonds which would drive me mad as well.

I actually live a 2 minute walk from the town and there are plenty of shops and supermarkets down the road, it's still the countryside but not very rural.
Country. I enjoy visiting the city once in a while, but I would never want to live there again. We lived in a city temporarily and it was too noisy and crowded for me. That's hilarious about the escalators! I used to be scared of them too lol!

I answered her question too because I'm pretty much the complete opposite of how she described a 'country' person to be. I can't believe she really thinks that way.
Country for me I HATE the city its too noisy and crowded. I LOVE fishin, ridin horses and everythin that comes with the country i work for my dad in his sheep farm and help my grandma and grandpa with their 200 head of sheep, 200 head of goats, and 30 head of cattle. there is nothin better than the country. and that girls comment on the uneducation .... my dad went to college and has a degree in engineerin so not all of us are dumb i want to know who shes actually based her theory on.
I was born in the country and will die in the country. I have a hundred acre running cattle ranch. I'm not leaving that. I'm kinda sad that I'll probably have to go to a city for college, but ohh well. I'll be an educated hick acording to tht one persons answer.
AGREED!! Toughguys answer is awesome! I can't believe this girl actually believes those stereotypes. Yes while there are people who fall into those not everyone who lives in the country is hick or redneck. This girl really is completely retarted!!

Your escalator story: lmao!! That is so funny!
I would rather be in the country i just find there is more space (we live 5 mins or so from town so we are still close enough for school and shopping etc) and because we have horses etc it just mean we have more space training wise for them
Unfortunately, I live in the city.

I'd like to move to the country.

I don't know if that answers your question or not.
Country

our whole society has a foundation based on farms, vegetables, milk, meat

but i guess many young people think all that comes from Walmart
I would rather be in the country. But not very faraway from the city.
Country all the way!;)
I am a country girl: ) I answered the question.
God, that was an ignorant question, WTF. On both parts, city and country.

I live on a 34 acre farm off a gravel road. I sure do know my way around the country.

But truth is, I love the city. I plan on living there. I just like how everyone lives together on a block, and hangs out outside together and invites each other over all the time.

Nobody cares about privacy, which I love. I hate how my neighbors get so sketched out if someone walks down the road that they've never seen before. Like, get over it, it's a public road. Nobody's trying to rape you.
