ok so im buying this saddle and it says that the tree is medium sized about how many inches is that?

The tree size refers to how it fits the horse. When you come across a measurement in inches, that's the size of the seat. If the seller doesn't know the seat size, ask them to measure it (from the saddle nail to the center of the cantle). The tree size isn't measured in inches, because there's really no way to measure it that will work for every saddle. A saddle with a medium tree can have any size seat, just like any other saddle. That's why they have different combinations of tree size and seat size, as well as different panel configurations : so that the saddle will fit both horse and rider.
