do they like to lie down and be quite bulkie on the on the ground? but are very good at jumping and riding?
Golly, I know nothing about Newforest Ponies ... but they sound so wonderful .... what kind of colors do they come in? I love Buckskins!
i think new forest ponies are soo cute and realiable, and very honest too. they are great jumpers and great for kids to learn on, but yes on the ground they are very chilled and not fussed much (well all the newforests i have met!)
what do you mean by bulkie though?
edit: mm not any that i know of, but it seems like you might be being a bit soft on him, make sure he knows when he is doing something wrong because you have told him; and he will learn more manners!
I don't really understand what you mean by the first part?
New forests are very well known for being honest, well behaved all rounders and the people who I know who have one say they're honest and great fun, will turn a hoof at anything.
edit: that behaviour is down to a lack of respect, not every new forest behaves like that, that is something that is brought on by a horse being allowed to think they're in control.

i have a 10yr old 14hh new forest pony ... he is a cheeky horse. he is very norty but knows he is loved so really pushes it ... he also likes to try put his bum in front of me ... i thought he was the only one ... glade to see there are others like him
