What are the minimum dimensions for a jumping arena?

Im looking to build a nice outdoor arena with a small jump course in it but i don't have a lot of space to work with what would the minimum dimensions be?
You can put up a course of jumps in a 20m X 40 M arena (standard size arena) but you do have to know how to place for stride distances and how to build a course.
There are Standards for each state. The most common rule is: 32 liner feet of rail for each horse. So for 10 horses, that would be 320 liner feet or a 60X100 foot arena. This would be the MINIMUM size and would be more appropriate for beginner lessons that advanced. Beginner riders like to use a smaller arena becuase it gives the horse less freedom to do what he wants and lets the rider feel in control. Other considerations are the ability level of the students and the activity that will take place. More advanced students that will be doing more canter work or jumping, may need more space. Setting jump courses for hunters or jumpers need a bigger arena. For Jumping, i would use a 150X400. This would be a large outdoor arena and can hold a whole 12 jump hunter course. A 70X200 ft arena makes a good inside/indoor arena size, it can hold a good 8 jump hunter course. An 85X225 ft arena makes a good hunter and jumper arena for outdoors. Hope this helps

Happy jumping
Make it as big as you can for the area that you have. You can always use only 4 or 6 jumps and have some do double duty as a diagonal if you know how.
I would say at least a 20x40. Mine is 40x60 but it was lots of work to set up:) hope this helped!
