How fast can an Arabian horse run on average?

Arabian horses are one, if not, the fastest breed ... even faster than the leading quarter horses and thoroughbreds. In Arabia/Egypt and in those parts of the world there are Arabian horse races that are not mentioned for the public, and are mostly kept secret. But I will tell you, some of those times and distances those Arabians run come no where near to the US standards. They have been breed for years have amazing ability that would suprise any horse breeder.

The thoroughbred race horse came from Arabians. An Arabian cannot outrun a thoroughbred in a short race but in the longer distances they will always win. It's not a commonly known fact but on occasion a racing stable will bring in an Arabian and breed mares with it, then breed those offspring with thoroughbreds to get back some of the Arabian traits that were lost in only breeding to other thoroughbreds.
I'm not sure about Arabian horses specifically, but in general ...
