How can i teach my horse to lie down? I do the putting a treat between his legs, but he walks backwards to get it! Help! Oh, and once i've got him to bow, how can i get him to lie down ? xx Thank you xx
Bowing - Teaching a horse that it's good to put the head down and pull the arms out of your sockets while you read.
Lying down - Teaching a horse that it's good to lie down in the middle of a ride and have a good roll possibly causing serious harm to the rider.
These tricks may seem cute but they are dangerous bad habits.
Avoid the lie down trick - the amount of problem horses I've had to fix because their owner taught them how to lie down.

I would look into clinton anderson's methods and that may help it depends on how well behaved he (or she) is. invest in clinton anderson!!! you wont regret it!
As previously said, it's a great way to teach bad habits and is not a cute trick when it all goes wrong.
