Works similar to a french link - My friends horse is ridden in one and he loves it.
although I don't understand how you can fall in love with a bit .... it seems no different than a $ 20 O ring bit. Also, I'd worry about pinching.
why not fall in love with a dee ring snaffle with the slightly bent bars so that the horse doesn't get the V effect? would work the same as that bit you adore, but it has no pinch factor in the sides. also, a dee ring can be used on the outside of the horse's mouth. the O ring can't.
It looks to me as one of those glorified bits that is for novice folks to fall in love with and get, I guess the seller knows how to make money on not so much!!
I would think it could be pretty wicked if you ever had to sit down and saw on it.
As a rule, I don't like loose rings. They can pinch the corners of the mouth. If your horse is happy in the bit he has now, then just get him a new D-ring.
Yeaah I love That Bit Its The Best My Horse Likes It She Rides Good With It Ever Since I Switched Shes Rode Allot Better:)
