My horse is at the trainer right now and its pouring and there is no shelter from the rain. Could my horse get sick if she wet the temp tonight should be around 65 dgrees?
If she is used to the temperature and the weather she should be fine. Our horses don't have shelter and they are fine and dandy. She should be fine though as the temperature is going to be 65 degrees, not that cold.
Well to tell you the truth. My horse he lives in a paddock, in the pouring rain, he has no shelter, not even a tree. He may have a runny nose, but that's it. It gets freezing in winters over here in NZ, and its pouring down with rain with storms , and he is fine.
Horses a built to last through cold temperatures. Remember before they became the horses we love and ride today, they were out in the wild, living and fending for themselves with no rug or shelter.
Most horses are fine in the rain, although sometimes they can catch a cold if they are wet and cold for long periods of time. I would suggest buying a rain sheet. They don't cost too much and your horse will be a lot of comfortable. If the weather is nice, I actually don't mind my horse getting soaking wet. It washes all the dust and mud off.
Ya she could. Especially if it is windy. Is there any trees or anything or can they put her inside or maybe put a sheet on her?
If she cools down too quickly she could get a chill yes.
