how do you dose cosequin?

i just got cosequin for my horse, she was lame, but she doesnt show it anymore, but she is sore at times. i dont know exactly how to dose it. this is what it says based on taffys weight: 600-1200 lbs

3 scoops am 3 scoops pm also it says this in another box:

economical long-term administration-

1 scoop daily

1-2 scoops daily

2 scoops daily

i am going to give it to her until she gets better, and i bought a 2 2 week starter sizes. what information do i follow. the first one i told you, or the second? no rood comments, im new to this stuff
Well Cosequin isn't going to magically fix lameness if that's what you're looking for. Joint supplements are a long term thing, once joint damage is done, it will rarely heal up to what it was prior to injury.

What did she hurt? If it was her foot or muscle. Cosequin isn't going to help at all.

If she has joint issues now, you are going to need to keep her on it permanently so she can live a comfortable life.

The 3 scoops am and pm is the loading dose. You want to do the loading dose for her weight for 1 month. Then you can switch to the lower dose daily for maintenance.
The dosage amount should say on the container.

I have my gelding on Cosequin ASU and the loading dose was 3 scoops for the first 3 weeks then down to 1 scoop to maintain.

I'm told that it takes a good 3 months to notice any change in them after they've been on Cosequin.

Good luck and hopefully your mare will improve.
