Proper boots for western pleasure?

My trainer said i need round toe boots. She is new to the western world so I just want to double check. Do i absolutely have to have those? I really don't like them. I like sassy pointed toes: P
Mine are somewhere between round and pointy.

But really, it doesn't matter for WP. You are not being judged, and no one is looking at your feet. Your position and outfit as a whole may affect how your horse looks or moves, but whether your boots are round, pointy , or square isn't going to cause you to lose the class. WP is based on your horse's ability and movement. You don't want boots that are going to be distracting or ridiculous looking, but something that are simple and barely noticeable under your chaps.
You don't want something that's going to bring attention to your feet, especially if you have "loud" legs. Pointy toed boots will bring the wrong type of attention! I just bought a pair of Ariat Show Baby's and I LOVE them - super comfortable, my feet sit right in the stirrups, and they look great ... http://www.cabelas.com/product/Ariat174- ... pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Not too expensive either, and my fatbaby's lasted forever, so I think these will as well. I would save these just for show, and use your pointy toes for practice, training, rodeos, ect :-)

Have fun!
As long as you have safe cowboy boots, anything goes. I wear square toe, but I have worn pointed toe. Round toe is fine, but I've never worn any. If you look at the Western Pleasure like at Congress, everyone has pointed toes. It all comes down to your preference, really. As long as it's safe!!!
naah. it's not really necessary. pleasure is more about how your moves and your posture about it.
If you don't respect her opinion, why are you paying her?
