http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt88/... 1998 16hh chestnut TB gelding. Hasn't done much in last 5-7 years but hang out in pastures. Least his joints are clean:) Adorable on the ground. Good ground manners and very people oriented. Hasn't been sat on in 7ish months and was LOVELY when I got on today. Held a nice frame for training level dressage at the w/t/c but doesn't have the conditioning/muscling to hold it long so I didn't ask. Not sure if he was trained to or just picked up on my aids to take contact quicker than the average critter. Will make a very cute low level dressage horse. No spook/no buck despite not being ridden and total babysitter type horse. Moved off the leg but not bolt-y/lightly. Apparently jumps well too but not well schooled or experienced.
Honestly, the horse market is down and winter is nearly here. Basically you have a sweet 12 year old TB gelding (am assuming he is off the track?) who is well behaved but hasn't really been worked for the past six years. Has no muscling, but does frame up for the walk/trot/canter. Green over fences. I like his conformation, but he does have long pasterns.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com I would ask $ 3000 but take $ 2500 and be happy with it. If you keep him through the winter and put some miles on him (get muscling, start jumping, maybe take him to a few shows) you could probably ask around $ 4k.
Play up his quietness and gentle behavior. TB's are a dime a dozen nowadays and some people are practically giving them away.
EDIT: That's great that he has never been raced and he is in a warmer climate. Definitely play that up in the ad as well, it might give you another $ 500 - $ 1,000.:)
Lovely horse, but over in australia. an untrained relatively old thoroughbred would go for maybe ... $ 100 - $ 200??? and thats the dogger prices. Most young and trained tb's here are tops $ 2000,
Anything over $ 400 is not worth it. No matter how calm or nice the hrose is, the thing as you describe it is barely trained, and i adore thoroughbreds too.
I would say you could get $ 3000 for him. I wouldn ' t ask for any more or less for him, that is just the right price. He has such good potential, but he is not at his pinnacle right now.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com What a gorgeous horse, absolutely stunning.
Depends where you are, and i don't see a video or anything, but I would say: $ 3000 - $ 4500? Hope this helps!: D
he looks like my friends horse! i would offer ... hmm .. maybe 3500 or so.
He sounds so cute!
$ 5000 maybe?
He looks pretty good! Really nice looking. I'd say about $ 4000
