my riding teacher has said i should enter the chase me charlie jumping Competition not this saturday coming but the saturday after that. i really don't know what it is and i am way to embarrassed to ask! could someone please tell me what i have to wear, what i need to do and what rules there are??? thanks lol x cause all i know is it involves jumping!
The way I've always done chase me charlie is everyone jumps the jump and then it goes up. As long as you jump clear you go to the next round and it just gets bigger and bigger - it's basically puissance for normal people :-)
It's easier than you think cause you usually starts pretty small and cause of that it's much easier than gong straight into the bigger jumps.
Hi, in the Chase me Charlie you all jump together over one jump, usually just an upright. It keeps on getting bigger each round until there are very few of you left in.
You get eliminated if you knock it down or refuse.
You win if you are last in.
Not too nice as your horse will finish on a knock down or a refusal, so if you are out, go an jump a lower practise fence so you fee better about it straight after!

The whole class jumps one after another over a single fence. The fence is then raised a few inches. If someone knocks it down they are sent out of the ring. The fence gets higher and higher until the last one is in and jumps it. He or she is the winner.
You can wear your ordinary riding clothes but a helmet that complies with the current BSE standard kite mark is a definite requirement and some shows might also insist on a body protector. Whips and spurs are not allowed.
Chase me Charlie Jumping is when they keep raising the fence once every rider has a chance, if you refuse or knock down a pole your disqualified. It can get pretty high, ive seen it done and some people make it to the tops of the standards! its just like knock down and out if you ever hear of that.

You wear your boots, breeches and polo shirt. You can do any colors. I would do fun colored saddle pad, ear net, polo's or boots.

Chase me charlie is jumping in a row, where the jumps get higher and higher. Sometimes the jumps can get very very high. but if you knock it then you are out. At our yard we have 1 chase me charlie every other month and we make it a big thing.
Basically a high jump, each round the jump is risen, if you knock you're out.
