I am 13 and have been riding for 4 years. I can do pretty much everything There is this horse at my stable that I cam currently riding in lessons. I love him. He is the perfect horse for me. He is tall, so am I. He is more advanced then the other horses I ride. I need him. I work really well with him. Even my instructor says so. BUT .... my mom won't let me lease him, not even half lease! She said she would love for me to be able to do that, but she can't get me to the stable that much! She also said that we can't afford it! I would be willing to give up my allowance of $ 34 a month, and give up my Christmas/B-day presents .... I haven't told her that though. I just don't know how to convince her to let me do it! She also says that I have too mich stuff going on right now. I have swim team mondays, nothing tuesdays, nothing wednesdays, horses Thursdays, and swim team fridays. I would easily give up swim team for that though. I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! Will anyone give me tips on this? Thanks!
Explain to her that you will gladly give up your allowance. Tell her that you really like this horse and that you would love to give leasing a try, and that if it doesnt work out you can go back to your regular schedule of riding once a week. Also, tell her that you really dont have that much going on in your schedule, and that half lease doesnt usually require you to go more than 3-4 times a week. Tell her that you respect her answer, and that you are willing to TRY this if she is.:)

good luck. email me and let me know what she says:))
I think that if you don't have alot of time to ride this horse and can't afford it then I think you should just ride the horse for free. It's the best solution. Maybe you can ask your trainer if you can do work around the barn to ride him more on the days that you can go. Good luck.
I'd try to seem as responsible as possible and talk to your mom about this calmly. If you get desperate or angry it gives her an excuse to not let you lease the horse. Tell her what you're willing to do and give up for the horse. Maybe your barn offers a rough board option where you could work in exchange for your half of the monthly board?
Also I'm sure you're a pretty good rider after four years, but you certainly can't do everything. I'm guessing you're not an olympic level rider ...
:) Good luck!!
