i am making an obstical coarse for my horse, and i dont know what else to do! what are mail boxes? because ive asked this question before, and some one said that. this is what i have:
a small jump
ground polls zig zag in and out of buckets
take water and a tennis ball and put it in a bucket
walking on tarp and wood
sidetrailing
but what else?
a limbo pole! to do the mail box you just mount it on a solid base somewhere and practice getting the mail on horseback. to do this you may need to side pass, back up, or pivot depending how well you approach. its good for lots of reasons it helps with targeting, timing, stride control.
serpentine cones, have a bucket of tennis balls on a barrel, ride up to it, get the ball out and throw it aa target. (you need to desensitize your horse before trying this, babysteps)

add - The website has one attached to at base; I have one one a pole that is welded to an old wheel rim. You ride up to it, open it, take stuff out, close it again. Harder than it would seem from horseback.
I have several of the swimming noodle obstacles. They take some teaching, but very good for de spooking the horses.
Put a letter in a mail box with a word on it, then have them memorize the word and have them say it to you at the end of the course.
Try opening a gate from horse back, and you could also try barrels and pole bending. But thats really all i can think off
