My parents bough me a horse yesterday but they're stupid and bought a boy. Can the vet change it for me? Is it expensive? Will it hurt the horse?
I love my horse but I don't want a boy.
Just take a chainsaw out there ..
While your at it .. do your parents too. They deserve it for getting you a stinky, dirty boy horse.
OH! Is this the same one that's sneaking into your room .. Give him gay porn .. he will basically covert himself into a girl:)
First of all, why do you care if it is a male or a female? If you love your horse like you say you do, then you wouldn't care. Being embarrassed by your horse's anatomy is immature and shows how ignorant you are. And why do you have a horse if you obviously don't know anything about them ?!
The only way a vet can "change" it is to castrate the horse if it is a stallion. You don't say if it is a stallion or a gelding. Castration can affect the behavior of male horses, often resulting in a calmer , better behaved disposition, but once a boy, always a boy. You can't change the fact that the horse was born with ay chromosome.

So, if the testicles are what's bothering you, then yes, the vet can take care of that. It can be expensive, but if you can't afford it, you shouldn't have a horse in the first place. It will hurt the horse as it involves removal of a body part without anesthesia or pain medication. Gathering by what you said, you're probably a girl and cannot relate. If the horse is a gelding (already castrated), then you are being really ridiculous. Male horses don't have cooties, so get over yourself.
Before you do anything, consider whether or not you actually are capable of caring for a horse. It is a commitment; you can't just throw it away when you get bored with him in a few months. Horses take time, money, love , and lots of hard work. If you can't meet all requirements, you shouldn't have a horse. Again, if you really love your horse, think what is best for him, not just what works out for you in the short term.
Done properly by a qualified vet castration of the horse will not bring him pain. This is done to a lot of racehorses, and many ot the jumpers are gelded. One of the benefits of gelding, normally means the horse is more gentle, as some full stallions can be very unpredictable.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com Check with the vet regarding cost, you may well be surprised.
As for your parents being stupid, perhaps you did not talk to them previously about the type of horse you wanted,
Ok you can not change the sex of the horse. And I agree with the comment before me ... you should have went to go pick out the horse.
If its a boy ... its either called a Stallion (non castrated) or gelding (castrated). If you want a mare .. trade out your horse or sell the horse and buy a new one. I dont see why you would want a mare ... if your a girl then you should be happy you have a male ... I think male horses get along better with a female owner ... female horse, male owner ... so I would research a little more before you even got a horse.
the vet can't change him.
in my opinion geldings are much better than mares. in time you will love him.
you are VERY lucky you have a horse. if my family could afford a horse we would be very grateful to have a horse. we wouldn't complain whatever sex it was.
that's stupid! if you were horsey and actually loved and appreciated your horse you wouldn't want to give it a sex change! WHATS THE POINT. it wont change anything but it will live a sore shorter life.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com and if you want a foal, think again because it cant have babies.
1 why u don't want a boy, 2 they can't change that horse into a girl, 3 if you don't want the boy put him up for adoption, and with the money get a girl
if you want to castrate your horse and make him a gelding then talk to your vet about it. But if you want a mare then you will have to sell or trade your horse and get another one
No horse sex changes are really common, but your horse is going to have to live life as a female for a year before the operation.
No the vet can't change it! Idiot, you should of chose the horse yourself or at leats told your parents you wanted a mare, either sell him or be happy you stupid a ** has got a hore:/
It won't hurt the horse but you must make sure that it is his decision and not just yours. I suggest you sit down and talk with your horse.
Why not a boy? They are sometimes better then a female because females are really rude whenever the start horsing!
Just push his boy parts in really far so they're inside out. Then he'll be a girl.
