what would you do? (20 characters)?

background: my farier, marvin, owns two horses. and i scoop his stalls, clean his horses, ride his horses, etc. and in return he trims and shoes one of my horses for free. sounds like a good deal right? along with his stalls we also clean this lady named bev's stalls too. she has eight stalls. so hers + mine + my fariers + my friends=a grand total of 12 stalls a day.

now: a couple days ago i came out to my barn and to my surprise, my friends horse, thunder, was in my stall with what was supposed my horses shoes on thunders feet. but get this, there was a $ 90 bill tacked to my stall ... so i called my farier and told him, you shoed the wrong horse and left a $ 90 bill, whats going on? he said, "what do you mean i shoed the wrong horse? thats not bailey?". .. nooo? so i explained whos horse it was and the differences between them. and preceded to ask why there was a bill. he said that it was under his impression that bev (the lady i told you about earlier) was doing his stalls , cleaning his horses, and riding his horses. which is totally WRONG ... so the next day we asked bev, "why is marvin under the impression that you are doing all the work and not us?" she said " i told him sometimes i do it and sometimes you do it but i never asked you to do it. "now at this point my mom is PO my mom is now wanting to move to the back of the barn and switch padocks so we arent even close to bev and marvin. i dont know if this is being over dramatic or what. what would you do in this situation???

Marvin is taking total advantage of you.

You are doing WAY WAY WAY too much work compared to what you're getting in return.

And on top of that, he's a liar. If he can't tell the difference between 2 horses, then he's either got eye problems or is really stupid or is a liar.

The Bev woman is also a liar and a cheat.

They both deserve each other and your mom is 100% right.

You need to drop these losers and find a true deal for yourself and for your horse.

And next time, don't be someone's slave. The pay is $ 10 a ride for exercising one horse, and $ 10 to clean one stall .... PER DAY.

Get paid for your work or get a real deal.
I think its alot of work to do for free shoeing/trimming for one horse. 12stalls a day. But im really not sure. But well done for doing 12stalls a day haah
Be diplomatic first and foremost - no matter if Bev is or not, the last thing you want is to start a war with someone who is going to be around your horse.

Call the farrier and ask him what his expectation is for the trade in services, and leave Bev out of it if this is between only you and him - may you even need to get this in writing.

Why was Thunder in Bailey's stall? Disorder like this can lead to way worse things than the wrong shoes! I don't think it's your farrier's responsibility to be able to visually recognize your horse v. any other that's in his stall - just think of how many clients he has, so whoever's decision it was to put Thunder in Bailey's stall and not inform the farrier of this change is ultimately responsible for that bill. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Why are you cleaning all of Bev's stalls? Is this part of the deal with the farrier? Sounds like Bev is taking advantage of you, so unless it's part of the trade in services with the farrier, or unless she is paying you or trading you for other services then stop doing it!

Good luck, and handsome horse by the way!
Gosh! It seems there's a lot going on at your barn! Well first of all well done for cleaning 12 stalls a day! I only have a shetland and i hate mucking out for one!

In this situation i would probably try approaching bev again and explain everything and ask her to tell your farrier whats gone on and how you are doing all of the work and then explain your side of the story to your farrier ....... . As to the moving it really depends on your horse and if he is comfortable being without the other horses or ifthat'ss not a problem then maybe see how things play out and stay with what your doing ... things may just resolve themselves

Hope this helped:) and hope you get things sorted
You should clarify that YOU are the one doing the work. And he should have know this by now. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Also you should ALWAYS ALWAYS be there when your horse is scheduled for a shoeing. As this is what could happen. As im sure he isn't very observant. So I think the wrong horse thing is kinda your fault. As I would NEVER let my farrier come an shoe my horse when I wasn't there. As I don't know what would be going on.
