well ive been riding for about 5 months and i can trot perfectly and am kinda sick of it. the horse i ride has broke into canter many times and i am fine. but my instructor is just like "slow him down. good canter tho" ;. she takes htings rely slow and i just started to work with another instructor also and i told her i can do walk trot diagnols and she has only been working on those. shud i ask my instructor to start cantering?
I ' m sorry, but please use the spell checker on Y! A because its useful.
Maybe ask your instructor why you haven't gotten to canter yet. It could very well be that you still need to work up your balance or your leg strength that you need to canter properly, etc. When I was first learning to ride, I was so ready to canter, and I thought I was totally ready to do it, but it felt like it was taking forever for my trainer to let me. Now that I look back on it, though I probably would have stayed on, I would have been sitting it really badly or I would not have been able to control the horse due to my lack of experience and balance.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com If you have a chat with your instructor about it, she might tell you what you need to master in order to be ready to canter, or she might realize you want to do it and start teaching it to you (a lot of riders are terrified of cantering so many trainers might take it slow so as not to intimidate them into quitting).
Try not to focus so much on "when are we going to canter?" In your lessons, because your trainer is teaching you very valuable things that you need to know. Good luck:)
Ask you instructor. Why you have not started, if you can have a go, and if not why. It sounds like your doing fine to me, Just always try your best and show that your ready. To persuade your Instructor more, say you will hold on to the front of the saddle. If your Instructor says no your not ready or something, ask if you can do no stirrups, If they say okay make sure you keep your heels down for balance. then try rising trot with no stirrups. Its not as easy as it sounds though, But it really will help your balance.

Best of luck!
Your instructor has a lot of experience, you might even be catering fast. Just ask why you have not and if you can. Be respectful though.
