To parade or not to parade?
So, I have the opportunity to ride my horse in a Christmas parade this weekend. He is a 10 year old Quarter Horse that is very calm and has been in many parades before. But, I've heard many horror stories of horses spooking and trampling people. So, in your opinion, is it worth the risk to ride your horse in a parade?
sounds like a fun experience to me
Do it!
Just do it. - Nike
It really depends on the temperament of your horse. If your horse gets spooked easily or doesn't like to be around a lot of people, don't take him. Try taking him around a sizable group of people before the parade to try and gauge her reaction, any sign that she is nervous or uncomfortable, don't take her. But if she reacts normally, then definitely take her. It can be a lot of fun for horses!
If your horse dose not spook at a lot of stuff go a head it is tuns of fun. He would probably be fine if he has done it before. Especially if there will be other horses around.

I have been in parads with my horses many times
u should take the chance if u think u can control ur horse pretty well. but if u can then forget it. i font think that u would be taking a big chance anyway cuz there are horses in parades all the time.
I think so, if your horse is calm and you can control him very well. my friend rides her horses in all the parades around and some people take it way to seriously like this one lady buys a horse for each parade and thats the only purpose.

Ive been to many parades if a horse freaks out then usually the rider dismounts immediately and then walks their horse away quietly.
if worst comes to worst you can do that couldn't you?
YES
is it your horse your not sure of or are you nervous of it if its nos 2 then dont do it your fear could transmite to your horse and then it will be nervous as well and who knows what could happen
It sounds like fun!! I wish my horses were calm enough to do parades!!
