What was your worst fall?
mine would have to be my first fall, when I was riding my first horse ever that was greenbroke, bareback in a halter and leadrope. This was like my first time riding her and 3rd day owning her. I asked for her to canter (thinking shes like any other horse I have ever ridden: slow, steady, balanced canter) but I was wrong. I got bucked off, flew over her head about 10 feet in the air, landed on my side and broke two fence boards in half. I landed on the fence and broke it in half. I actually laughed, though, and wasn't scared at all.
:P
weird.
now your turn!
My horse stumbled and fell to his front knees.
His head and neck disappeared from my view and I felt like he was going to somersault, so i bailed out of the saddle over his head.
I spun in the air somehow and landed on my back, hitting my head pretty good (thank gosh for helmets). Before I had landed on my back my wrist hit the ground first, so my wrist was pretty painful for a few days.

Not too bad a fall. Only fallen off twice in my 11 years of riding, knock on wood. My first fall also consisted of me jumping out of saddle, landing softly in the sand on my knees.
I was running and playing with 2 other friend and 2 horses in a pasture and we were going back to the barn. My friend gave me a leg up to her ex-racehorse and went to get the lead rope. (i had no helmet on. What can i say, i was stupid )well, she was being stupid too, and threw the lead rope behind him, therefore, spooking him. He took off and went around the ENTIRE pasture (1-2 acres) about 3 times before coming to a little drop off at a hill and dead stopped. I fell into a bush and got a black eye.
I COULD NOT let me parents find out and told them I tripped in the pasture and fell on a rock. THey believed me and still do. lol. that was my worst fall. All my others, i slid off purposely. THerefore, my friends have given me the nickname velcro butt. lol
My worst fall was no big deal. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
It was a while ago--I was loping tango bareback and he decided to take off into a gallop and when I asked him to slow down he did a half stop, half 'U' turn thing and I flew off and my bad knee hit the fence and my head hit the ground. Good thing I had a helmet on!
I didn't get hurt. I was actually kind of funny. Ha ha.
I was riding my old mare home She's an Tb and Appy? i think. any shes pretty hot, and we were walking home, I came to a nice little stretch and she was acting lk she wanted a nice run, but there was a ditch so I planned to walk again before it.
So i let her into a nice little lope, she wanted to just go and go and go as usual, but i wudnt let her. We come close to the other side and i go to slow her down and she bucks a couple times. just a couple little crow hops that I probably would have been able to handle but my stirrup broke from under me. Which is wierd cuz its a western saddle. I go down hit my shoulder on the horn of the saddle. Flip underneath her and lay on my back as I watch her walk over the top of me. Thankfully she walked and chose her steps very carefully. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
I was all bruised up for awhile, and I had a concusion. turns out my saddle was really old and rotting, figures, someone gave it to me. before that I rode her bareback with a halter and lead.
At the time, I didn't wear helmets, but needless to say I do now. I may not like it, but I do wear it.
First fall off my horse that I presently own. He lacked manners and we were cantering and a horse took off in front of him in our lesson and he jumped in the air and bucked. I flew over his head and did a summer sault landing on my back and it knocked the wind out of me. Scared that crap out of me actually because I had never not been able to breath. I bruised my kidney and hurt for a few days. Got back on though and kept going. Little stinker.
I was at a clinic trying English for the first time. THe trainer made me ride without stirrups. The gelding I was riding was used for breeding and cut late in life so he still has stud behaviors. He started acting up when we cantered by a mare (stirrupless mind you) and I just kind of slid off. It hurt my pride more than my body.
My worst fall was when I was breaking this quarter horse and i had done 2 months of ground work with him and I felt he was ready to let me on in the 2 months of ground work i did with him he was fine with me putting 2 10 pound bags of sand in the saddle. But boy oh boy was I wrong to trust that horse lol i put my foot in the sturpp and swung my leg over and then all of the sudden he was like ahhhhhhhhh and he totally flipped out he reared up and lost his footing came back and hit the ground with me still in the saddle i barley missed the horn of the saddle coming for my head i moved my head right has we both came down to the ground and the horn hit my shoulder and broke it in 3 places i was in a sling for almost 6 months but the good thing is i did get that horse broke and he did great for his owner when she came to get him:)
