Help with shopping for my first dressage saddle?
I'm wanting to get a dressage saddle .. right now I just ride in my wintec 250 all purpose saddle.
I have a 14.2hh 9 yr old BS paint mare.
She would need a medium tree, right? (I'm pretty sure thats what my english saddle is)
she doesn't have high withers or any of that.
I am almost 5'8 "and have very long legs, that reach to the bottom of my ponies stomach line when my feet are in the stirrups.
I am looking for a GOOD quality dressage saddle, 16 "seat, medium tree ... for $ 300 or less. I don't care if its used, I just want it to look nice/decent and not be rough on my horses back .
PLEASE help me find one? I don't know much about dressage saddles.

I doubt you'll find a good quality dressage saddle for $ 300. And are you sure you're a 16 "seat? I'm 5'6", long legs and I ride in a 17.5 - 18 "seat.

It will be very tough to find a used good quality dressage saddle for $ 300 or less. You might find a Wintec or other synthetic dressage saddle but not a good leather one. If taken care of, a good quality used leather dressage saddle by a good saddle maker, will hold it's value. So, invest as much as you can in a good quality, well fitting leather dressage saddle that you will be able to sell when you out grow your pony and then you will have seed money for another saddle.
If your budget absolutely can't go above $ 300 then stick with a Wintec. They are generally better for you and your horse's back then the really cheap leather ones in this price range. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
As for the tree size, if your AP saddle fits well and it a medium tree then that is probably what she will wear in a dressage saddle. Just know that each brand and style will fit differently. You must try them on and ride in them to make sure the fit is right for you and the horse.
