Why does my pony stare into a corner?
My pony stares into a corner. He just seems to like it, I don't know why. He doesn't want anything to do with the other two horses (that are about 1/3 bigger than him), and if one of them tries to be nice to him (sniff, nudge, affectionatly nip, etc.), he basically ignores them. Do you think he might feel intimidated for being the smallest? I feel bad sometimes, I wish he had a friend, the other two horses are friends. My pony only has me... :(
answer:
Size doesn't matter when it comes to horses. So, no, your pony isn't intimidated by the others because of his size. You can put a full grown horse with a minature stallion and that little stallion will dominate the full grown horse.

There are many reasons why your pony just stands staring into the corner. It's impossible to tell you exactly which it might be without actually looking at the pony and seeing what's going on. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Maybe the pony is more of a "loner"...there are horses and ponies who prefer to be near the other horses, but not necessarily pay attention to them. They're not as "hands on" as other horses or ponies who like to nuzzle or play.

Maybe the pony is at the bottom of the pecking order and is minding his own business. OR maybe the pony is the top dog and he's minding his own business.

It does look pitiful when a pony or horse just stands off on their own,....but don't feel bad for him. That's how he is. As long as he's getting enough to eat and drinking plenty of water and is otherwise healthy and has plenty of room to roam around....that's what's important.
Personally, i think your pony is depressed. separate him for awhile & do some refresh bonding. he needs a bit of your time & affection.
