Have you ever seen or heard of this horse color?
I was reminded about my first horses odd (or maybe just odd to me, that's why I'm asking) coloring when answering another post on here. She was a quarter horse/appy cross and was all plain medium brown except for the black appy spots she had all over her. I haven't seen any appys this color; only white with black or brown spots. So is this color rare? Does it have a name?
answer: As far as I know, leopard appaloosas are brown/black spots on white, not black spots on brown. But admittedly I'm no appy expert.
What it sounds like to me actually is Bend Or spots. Which is entirely possible, because bend or spots can happen in any breed and not every appy has spots.
Did she look like this?

I'm no expert on apps but I've seen alot of color combinations. My app was a smoky gray color with black, cream and dark brown spots on his rump,, and he had black legs and black mane and tail. In the winter the gray became buckskin with absolutely no spots, then when he shed out in the spring he was back to gray, and had more spots than the year before, which I believe is common as they get older.
She was a leapord appaloosa/qh, I bet. I saw one who was a qh and had the appy spots placed here and there on her body, but the strange thing was they were cream colored
Yes it is rare! and very unique. so i say you have an 'eye-catcher' here!
spots all over? was she a leopard appaloosa maybe?
