Hunter Hack Height at Show?
I am taking my horse to a local-ish show next Sunday, and have a couple questions about hunter hack. If it is just a local show and not a showjumping barn with few english riders, you don't think the jumps will be very high, will they? My horse can jump 2ft 9in, and it probably won't be higher than that...
Also, my horse has never jumped actual "proper" jumps, just barrels with poles across them xD We've been soing it for quite some time now. I'm afraid she will refuse if we are not allowed to show the horses the jumps first. Should I enter it? (She's never turfed me when she refuses, she normally does it slowly or runs out)
Thanks :)
and please NO RUDE COMMENTS about anything! If you have one, keep it to yourself! :D

Hunter Hack classes are normally 1 to 2 small jumps, about 2 feet high. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
They're usually very simple jumps - pole on the ground, two standards, one pole across. They're not scary at all to the horse - though the show itself may be!
You should practice jumping your horse over things withOUT showing them to her. It's not a big deal, she's unlikely to have a problem with it. It's a bad habit to get into. Horses are a lot braver about these things than people give them credit for.
Iv had the exact same thing a few yrs ago when i first got into showing. But my pony mare was awesome and ddnt refuse a thing. It may pay to go to a friends or have a lesson with some proper jumps just to see how she goes. If you trust her enough and you trust her she should do fine though. And wouldnt there be a program out of the height classes there are? So that way you can tell how high the jumps will be? Good luck :)
