Kimblewick bit with drop noseband?

Kimblewick bit with drop noseband?
I want to try a kimblewick bit (without the curb chain) on my horse, but wondering if I am able to still use a drop/flash/hanovarian noseband with this particular bit. I know that you obviously can't use the drop noseband when using a curb chain, but I am not, so is it still ok???

Thanks

i've seen k/wicks used with every type of noseband. i personally do not like this bit and have never seen much point to it, as i find there are better bit options, but that is just my opinion..
Why do you think you need this sort of nose-band with a Kimblewick (or any other sort of bit)?

If your horse is "strong" then he needs training not tieing up with severe equipment. Think of it this way - if you had a child would you tie its feet together or would you teach it not to run into the road without looking?

In unskillful hands the drop nose-band can be very painful and often works by frightening the horse although it can actually increase "running away" problems. It can also interfere with the horse's breathing. It's rarely seen in the UK these days even in hunting circles. Flash or Hanoverian nose-bands prevent the horse mouthing the bit properly and can be painful if over tightened.

Unfortunately a lot of professional riders who want a quick fix use these nnose-bands which leads amateurs to think they must do so too but in the 57 years I've been handling horses and teaching riders I have never met a horse which actually needed any of them.

Work on your riding and schooling your horse with a good, well-qualified teacher and forget about the paraphernalia.

if you really need to i would use a flash but make sure its not too tight...but i also agree with what the other riders say, if your horse is strong and you need a kimblewick, thats fine, i sued to ride my old horse in a kimblewick, but, i would try and steer away from the help of gadgets if you can :)
