Rubber bit (20 characters)?
My horse goes in a stainless steel eggbutt snaffle bit. we were thinking since he likes to chew if he would do well in a rubber coated one so he would have something to chew on. i only found one and it looked like it was very thick. I dont know how well he would do with that one i found. so what are other rubber coated eggbutts or similar bits that come in rubber coating? must come in a 5 "

I'd avoid rubber coating if I had a horse that worked the bit a lot. My horse doesn't chew often and still chews the rubber off to the point of needing replacement annually. Hers is this kind:

Most rubber bits are too fat to be comfortable for the horse. Try plastic instead. Happy Mouth and Nathe both make plastic coated bits in many different sizes and shapes. Happy Mouth is less expensive then the Nathe. If you train in dressage you must make sure the mouth piece doesn't have a roller or any bumps. The mouth piece must be smooth. If you are training in another horse sport then you may want to try a plastic bit with a roller or something else for your horse to concentrate on besides biting at the bit.
Also, many horses will bite at the bit when they are stiff laterally and longitudinally. Try lateral suppleing (bending) exercises as well as longitudinal suppleing exercises (like repeated transitions, rein back, etc) to get your horse to better accept the bit.

or a roller bit to "play" with. i used to ride a horse that would dribble all over and fight at bits. we got him a roller and he dribbled some more but "plays" and wont fight it.
