What is this type of cinch called; is it the most comfortable for the horse?
http://www.crosscountryhorsesales.com/fl…What is this type of cinch called? I just went to Google and typed in "Western Cinch" to find the type I liked..
Also, is it the most comfortable type of cinch for horses? I have a rope cinch and I absolutely hate it.. I am going to get Tango something a bit more comfy. ;)
One more question.. About how long do these last?
answer: it's just a fleece cinch. i really like fleece cinches, because it's nearly impossible for a horse to get a girth sore with one. the only risk is it can get pretty hot. that one doesn't look very high quality, but i have a fleece cinch that i'm in love with. it's in perfect shape. they don't wear down the way others will.

The only thing is, you REALLY need to keep up with their care. they can get matted down with sweat, which CAN cause a saddle sore. they also pick up burrs easily, and no horse wants a burr under their belly. so keep it brushed out and was it as necessary.
Generally I just call them fleece girths, or fluffy girths. They hold up pretty well if you don't abuse them, assuming the base quality was pretty good.
It's just a plain old western cinch with fleece padding on it. It is very comfortable and it helps my horse from getting girth sores. I've had mine for a year now, and it is still in perfect shape. I would highly recommend it.
Those are pretty nice for horses with sensitive skin but if it's hot where you are i don't recommend them, I prefer the neoprene ones.
Sorry don't know the name :(
That is just a standard girth with fleece. If you get that type of girth I suggest you get the ones with the rollers on the buckles. It makes it infinitely easier to tighten your cinch if your girth has rollers.
