If horses were not so pretty, would you still love them the way you do?

What if they looked like giant rats? But they still were as functional as horses are? If you could ride them and do your barrel races, or you jumping, or whatever it is you do.

I am glad they don't look like rats. I have also considered what if horses acted like dogs? Friendly and loyal and your best friend. But I would hate for a 1000lb animal to want to sit in my lap.

I was just thinking of how awesome that horses exist. A beautiful creature that is physically able to carry us over distances and the disposition to want to do it. That's amazing! Thank you God for the wonderful gift and giving those who are lucky enough, the chance to appreciate it.

If they looked like rats we'd probably still think they were beautiful, just like if rats looked like horses we'd think they were ugly. If you raise a child telling them that rats are wonderful and beautiful and horses are ugly and disease-ridden pests, they'd think rats were prettier and more likable. I've thought about it- Take pigs. They have been scientifically shown time and time again to be far more intelligent than dogs or horses, nearing the level of intelligence of Parrots and Dolphins. They can recognize their own reflection in a mirror, while horses will run into mirrors because they can't understand that what they are seeing is a reflection. Yet even if people know this, they still choose bacon. Do I think that would be the case if pigs were pretty to look at, and we didn't grow up thinking "Ugly dirty piggy"? No.

Of course! I love horses for their personalities and there loyalty, not there looks. I will always love horses, no matter what they look like :D.

I like feeling like I can fly regardless of looks. Riding makes me feel like I'm on the wind and I can go anywhere and do anything. And if they looked like rats I'd still love them anyway simply because of how good they make me feel (Or bad if I'm in love with one and I can't see it like right now).

I will not praise God for them though, because I do not believe in a God.

But I will praise evolution for giving us such a lovely creature :)

Researched horses for my research paper in 6th grade, so I know all about the whole evolution of them, and I've loved them since I can remember :)

To me it would be wrong not to love a horse even if they looked like a giant rat. My horse is like my child. This is like asking me if I would still love my child even if he/she was deformed.

yes i would love them! My first horse was a sway back knocked kneed strawberry roan with a fat belly and front legs that you could park a VW Bug inbetween. Everyone mad efun of him untill the two of us got in the team pennign arena:) my little Dan was the best gift from God, even if he was ugly!!!!

Charlotte I love your way of thinking! and I firmly believe lots of people would still consider them beautiful, the horse I'm working with has an unbelievably massive head and burns on her nose, eyes and left ear.

We probably would love them just as much as we do now. Haha.! But god blessed us with more then we could ever dream of.! You could never thank him enough.! Horses are wonderful animals. He knew a little girl would need a horse to look like a horse...instead of a giant rat lol :)
