I have an empty 100 gallon tank in which I'm hoping to add an banded snake eel next week but anyways what are the odds of housing a jack knifefish? I saw five on my trip to Australia but are they an aquarium fish? Any tips, requirements, experiences? I am an intermediate to expert on saltwater so if there are any special care i can probably carry them out.

These drum can be kept in a large tank, but they have the unfortunate characteristic of being colorful and attractive as young fish, but growing into a rather common, large gray, "fishshaped" fish as adults. All of the charm of youth disappears, and the body shape develops into a very average look. This is why the are not commonly kept in home aquaria.
