My guppy is kind of dying i think?
So I have a 5 gallon fish tank with two gold fish that have been doing fine. But recently, like three weeks ago, my friend dumped his dumb guppy off on me and it has been doing fine since it has been put in the tank. I know its a female, and I think it might be pregnant because it is super fat and it has that black dot thing down by the fin. But, tonight i noticed that it was just lying on its side at the bottom of the tank and i thought it was dead but when i looked closer its gills were still moving. Its alive, but it cant seem to swim. It tries to, but it just cant get up far enough. I was hopefully waiting its death two weeks ago but now the little thing has started to grow on me. Is there any chance of saving it? Does anyone know whats wrong with it?
Yeah it's definitely pregnant but maybe it's about to give birth...? Sorry I know I'm not lots of help just guessing lol
a five gallon fish tank with two goldfish? goldfish can't live in that small of a tank. the guppy is close to giving birth. you should probably separate her if you want to save the fry.
No, your Goldfish are not doing fine. Get them out of that tank as soon as possible. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
Not only is the tank FAR too small for even one goldfish, they are coldwater fish and guppies are tropical fish? Recipe for disaster?
Two common goldfish need 100 gallons.
Two fancy goldfish need 30 gallons.
Seriously, they will quickly become stunted and deformed in such a tiny setup.
Oh, and a five gallon fish tank is too small for any fish except a single male Betta.
