Male ram chasing female ram?

Male ram chasing female ram?
I just bought 2 beautiful females ram for my lone male ram. Immediately when they were released into the tank, the male started chasing them all around the tank and the 2 females lost their beautiful colour and started to clamp their fins. What should I do?
In the past when i tried breeding ram and the spawn was unsuccessful, the male started to chase the female all around the tank and she lost her colours. why does this situation happens?
Ram's are not community fish.
Which means that just because you put a female ram with a male ram doesnt mean the male ram wants to mate with them.
Unless they have a large space, I doubt they will mate.
The male is being territorial. He considers that tank his territory and the new additions are seen as invaders, not potential mates.

Give the tank a good cleaning and rearrange the decorations. This will break up the male's established territory. Add some more hiding spots

They'll get used to each other pretty quick. When they get into breeding condition the male will stop chasing and start displaying to the females.

Rams actually make pretty good community fish. They act aggressive but do very little real damage.
