My original plan was to create a 5 gallon Betta, shrimp, snail tank. But now I'm moving to a 10 gallon. What other fish can I add to the tank to maybe give it some more activity and color? I was thinking a small school of Neon or cardinal tetras or some mollies! But i'm not positive on Good Betta compatibility!
Fish to not consider::
Those with long fins or bright colors as a betta will mistake it for another male betta if it is a male.
No fin nippers as they will try to bite your betta's tail.
No fish that have to live in water other than freshwater (mollies need to live in brackish water and also need a min. Tank of 20-30 gallons).
No fast swimming fish (again, no mollies) as it will stress the slow swimming betta.
Fish to consider::
Dull colored, short finned, slow, freshwater fish.
Ghost shrimp, cherry shrimp, or other shrimp (they grow about an 1.5 more or less, so follow the inch per gallon rule).
A mystery snail needs a minimum of a ten gallon tank, so one or two would be okay. They produce a lot of waste, though.

Corydoras (cory cats) are usually bottom dwellers, which is great for a betta.
Dwarf frogs will also be okay, and you can add about one or two in the tank.
There is not much fish you can stock in a ten gallon tank. Make sure to do much more research on a fish you are considering.
Make sure your betta is not aggressive before adding any fish (some bettas may or may not tolerate other fish in his tank).
If you want bettas, get 5 females. They will nip and chase each other at first but soon enough they will establish whose boss. Just have lots of hiding places in your tank.
As for tetras, I would get diamond tetras instead of neon or cardinal [; They're less prone to diseases.
Good luck
Tetras are not a good bet just because they are fast swimmers and can be nippy if not in proper schools.
I would recommend pygmy cory cats, you could have a school of about 6 and would fill the bottom feeder aspect of your tank.
