I picked up a 55 gallon tank today and i really fancy just setting it up with Rainbow fish only is that Possible
I already have some Australian Red rainbow fish in another tank but mixed with other fish but if i can have only Rainbows could i mix the Different species and how many could i have.

I'd choose rainbowfish from one region. Let's say Australia.
So you could have:
10 Featherfin Rainbows
5 Boesmani Rainbows
5 Turquoise Rainbows.
Or Something along those lines.
All your Rainbowfish would appreciate a well planted tank.

It's actually very strongly recommend to not mix Rainbowfish species. There is some risk with some species that hybridising is an issue and males will still chase and display to other Rainbow species.
