i bought a betta fish and put it in a 2.5 gallon aquarium and i was wondering if i could put a bala shark and an african dwarf frog in there with him? im kind of worrying that the shark will kill the frog.
Killing frog wouldn't be issue ... fact Bala Shark can grow to 16 "and like their own company (at least 3) is a much bigger concern.
Dwarf Frog and Betta, no problem together ... but rather see them in a 5g.
There are many fish that are compatible as betta tankmates. The four rules that you can use to determine whether a fish is compatible are
1) Not colorful or resemble a rival betta's colors (guppies)
2) Not a fin nipper (Tiger barbs are a big NO)
3) The right size for the size of the tank (No common plecos in a 10 gallon tank since they get to 2 feet in length)
4) Lives roughly in the same water conditions as a betta (no brackish/saltwater fish)

Bala wont live long enough or grow big enough to harm the other fish, it will quickly die in a tank that size.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com Start Bala sharks out in about a 55gal tank, and expect to move them to a bigger tank time.
You don't have space for anything else.

The Dwarf Frog YES ... but definitely do NOT put a Bala shark in a 2.5 gallon tank, they get big. I have Dwarf Frogs in with my Betta and they seem to get along just fine.
The shark wouldnt live long in that. they should be in groups of 6 and for that you need a 120 gallon tank as they grow over 12 ".
Bala sharks get 12 + inches long and need 55 + gallons. 2.5 gallons is actually too small for the betta anyway though you could probably put a frog in there. A 5 gallon would be betta.
Frog eat betta
