I just added some dwarf grass to my tropical tank, i needed cover for my platy fry and i wanted to try something new.
i need to know two things
How long does it take for it to take root?
Does it spread?

I have some that was in my 150. I moved it to a 125 recently.
How long does it take to root? Mine came with roots. I suspect if you just have top clippings it might not ever root.
Does it spread? Yes, although slowly. Unlike the viviparous relative of this plant which grows fast but is messy looking IMO.
There is a photo below of the dwarf hairgrass I bought, from the place I bought it.
I've got some, it grows a lot of algae on it if you don't have C02 like I do. It does spread , yes. It's a carpeting plant and will cover the floor of the tank. Treat is like real grass you can cut it like real grass anyway!
