Are big gravel rocks bad for planting an aquarium?

a medium sized rock that looks kinda big for planting plants, should i change it to the black small rocks? most ppl use it for planted aquarium because it looks nice and suits the environment. And is any should i add soil (if i can find ) or should I not because its a running aquarium not new
you can use course gravel, i do, and i doesn't make a difference. you don't need soil either unless you are keeping difficult plants, instead use fertilizer tablets you can put it the soil
Nope ... Gravel rocks aren't bad and it would be good if you are using your aquarium for turtles ..

You can mix gravel rocks with those black pebbles or you can buy some shiny coloured pebbles from the pet shop which obviously wouldn't cause harm to your pets ...

You can add a bit soil with the rocks to increase the reality of it but if you don't like the idea, then don't go for it ...
