shall I seperate them and put one on a diet, or just leave them together and the skinny one might learn to become quicker at getting the food, or perhaps the fat one just has a bigger appetite?
I have quite a few goldfish and have had them for about a year now. I have commets and fantails. I have some commets that are smaller then other but I have got them around the same date. You see, animals are like humans. They each grow at a different pace . Just like us! The one might be getting more food then the fat one but I doubt it. There is no need to separate or anything: D. Just be on the lookout. If any goldfish gets fat all of a sudden, it may have bloat. No need to worry thought! Have a nice day!
I would leave them. They grow at different rates & goldfish also like to feed on stuff on the bottom of the tank so it should be fine. If one becomes suddenly fat, it may have bloat.
Leave them, i've got 4 goldfish and it took the little one about 4 months to get as big as the other 3.
the fat one may be "pregnant" ;: D
