I am looking to buy this product but I don't think it will work with my sink. Also if it is changing the water while siphoning out the dirt, When would I condition the water from the harmful chemicals in my tap water?

It hooks up to most as is, but if it doesn't hook up to yours the way it comes, they have adapters available. Same as with a Python and Lee's Ultimate Gravel Vac. They all basically work the same and at least some of the parts are interchangeable. I discovered that tid bit through desperation, lol.
i have this one, it hooked up to my kitchen and bathroom sink with no problem, you just unscrew the little cover where the water comes out on your sink and then screw in the peice for the aqueon and connect it all up. You would condition the water as it goes in, since you arent doing 100% water changes, you just pour the conditioner into the tank and let the force of the water going into the tank from the water changer to mix it all up. Main thing you need to be careful of is the water temperature, get a thermometer and hold it under the running water to find where the temperature is close or equal to what is in the tank ... or take the fish out all together, place in plastic bags til your done siphoning and refilling.

Another tip, I keep the little peice in a ziploc bag in my fish stuff drawer so not to lose the rubber O ring.
