I used to have 3 fish in a 1 gallon tank and 2 died quickly. I have 1 fish left and got a new 1.5 gallon tank and i wanna get another one. I just want to know if it will be safe because i dont want another fishy dead: (
short answer ~ if you want happy healthy fish i would suggest 10g tank.
That's a very small tank I must say. If you don't want another fish dead then get at least a filter running 10 gallon tank. You will have more fish options and your fish won't die as quickly. Betta fish require I would say at minimum a 5 gallon tank with a properly installed heater and a running filter. You basically won't get anything from a 1.5 gallon tank. There was actually no doubt that three fish were going to die in a 1 gallon tank.
No. A Betta requires the least amount of gallons of all fish and that is 5 gallons. You can't even put 2 (female) betta's together in a 5 gallon. All other fish need 10 gallons for the most part. 3 male guppies would do great in 8 gallons for example, BUT NO FISH CAN LIVE IN A BOWL! 1.5 gallons can't hold nothing.
NO!
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com 1.5 gallons isn't large enough for ANY fish. Even something small and siple like a betta needs a heater which needs at least 2.5gallons. I'd suggest you return the fish and the tank.
please please please do research BEFORE you get pets. otherwise you risk losing their lives. asking this question is a good start, but it's sort of too little too late. next time you want to get a pet google it BEFORE you get it. learn EVERYTHING there is to know about it, other wise how will you know how to care for it?
if you really want fish, decide what the biggest tank you can have is (larger tanks are easier to care for. I'd suggest at least a 10gallon). if you're fine with just a betta I'd suggest a 5gallon. do some research on:
1. Fishless cycling:
http://www.ehow.com/how_5474137_do-fishl ... 2. The type of fish you want (learn ideal temp, minimum tank size, what it eats, treats you can feed it, how aggressive it is, suitable tank mates, ect).
No fish can live in a tank smaller than 5 gallons because they require swimming space and small tanks generally build up ammonia quickly which is toxic for fish.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com For a 1.5 gallon tank I would suggest snails or shrimp.
1.5 gallons isnt big enough for any fish. Bettas need at least 5 gallons. Its only good for shrimp or snails
depends what type they are
