Ok you guys my guppy i still don't know if it is a girl or if she is pregnant. Here is what she looks like:
1: She is mainly grey with orange on her tail
2: Her tail is smaller than your pinky finger
3: She is sort of big around the underbelly
4: Her anal fin is not fan shaped but not pointed, almost like other fish were nipping at it
5: She is loosing color on the top like her scales are completely white
6: She has a gravid spot on her belly
7: Her anal fin has a black dot really close to the under belly like almost touching it
with a clear observation can you tell if she is pregnant?
I agree, she is pregnant but if she's stressed out or sick (nipped fin and color loss) she can abort the whole batch. Take good care of her and make sure (if she's with others) that she's not being attacked. It's best to move her to her own tank so you can save as many of the babies as you can. Adult fish will happily eat them up: (
Yes, she is pregnant. The black gravid spot is a sure sign, and the larger it is (ie the more stretched the abdomen is) the closer she's likely to be to dropping fry and/or the more she's carrying. Bear in mind that female guppies store sperm , so she can drop quite a few times without being exposed to another male. If you have space for a lot of babies, get some good plant cover into the tank or be ready to remove fry to a baby tank. If you only have space for a few, leave limited cover for the fry and the adults will eat quite a few of them.
