Fish Food: are tropical crisps and tropical flakes the same

i feed my betta tropical flakes and want to know if tropical crisps are the same thing and if it will hurt my betta if i feed him tropical crisps
They are almost the same thing but flakes are better for your betta and even so I believe pellets are even better than both. Crisps are meant to be fed for larger fish and it isn't recommended for bettas. Flakes give could nutrition but they don't have enough protein to provide for bettas. Therefore I suggest getting betta bites or other pellets that are made for bettas with a protein of 40%.

~ Treats that could be fed only once a week ~

Brine shrimp

Blood worms

Tubifex worms

Peas (only once every two weeks)

lettuce (only once every two weeks)

The peas and lettuce can only be fed in little bits. So you would only feed one or a half of a pea and a few specks of lettuce the size of the small tropical flakes you are feeding and the same amount you feed.
They aren't the same thing, however it shouldn't hurt your fish at all. Crisps are generally used by people with larger fish because they don't crack apart as easily as the flakes. Crisps will hold their shape. However, crisps hold their shape a lot longer than flakes will, which means that when the betta tries to eat it, it wouldn't suck and fold in like flakes do. I personally have never had a betta, but I bought one for my Grandma. I know that they have tiny mouths compared to a lot of other fish of the tropical variety. Crisps might be too much for a betta to eat, due to the size alone. The thing with this, if he can eat the crisps ... it wont hurt him to do it. Try the food, see if he is big enough to eat it. Maybe try crumbling the crisps into smaller pieces .... the food isn't bad for him. It might not be specifically made for bettas , but your fishy won't complain:)
