im only asking because i have a male betta in with 5 female bettas and they are fine together
Your male betta doesn't have much longer to live. I once had a male betta and two females and they killed him within 24 hrs . Please remove the male betta temporarily so that he can live in peace because right now things are pretty tense in that tank. And next time ask questions BEFORE you buy more fish; not after. I felt horrible about what happened to my male betta. After all, he was a pet and I didn't take good care of him. Fortunately, the pet store took back the female bettas and I got myself another male; I would rather have a male betta than females.
A week is not a long time at all and only time will tell whether this works out. The only time I've seen it work for any length of time is in tanks over 90 US gallons and densely planted. A week is by no means a success !
If the male sets up his territory, which he will, then he may view any female coming into it as a threat and kill her. OR the females may gang up on the male and kill him. Your male in that video is showing stress stripes .
How big is your tank? You sure do have a lot of fish in it. Guppies, platies, guppy/platy fry, kuhli loaches, danios, and six bettas. That's quite the load. I have concerns about over stock issues. As if it wasn't crowded enough with six bettas, then there's all those other fish too.

If it's working for you, have fun, but I have my reservations on the issue. You don't just take six fish that are proven to be territorial and throw them together. So either they're going to snap at some point and you 'll come home to several dead fish, or you got luck and picked out six very laid back bettas. Some of them from their coloration, might possibly be siblings, and I've head siblings usually get along. So if you got them from the same place at the same time, and they haven't been apart for very long, that might be a contributing factor to your intial peaceful appearing setting.
Wait and see. If they're still all there in six months then we can chatter again.
PS one of your females looks pretty ripped up. Have they been picking on her?
Putting female and males betas together is fine as long as there are only one male and one female in the tank (some betas are different) Some females will kill the males while others wont.so to be safe I would move the male beta if there are more than one females in the tank. Just never put Males together. They will kill each other
I do not recommend keeping them together . Either he eats her, or she eats him .. OR they have babies and eat the babies ....

Betta breeding is best left to the experts.
Not a good idea the male will either harrass the females or the females will KILL HIM how big is the tank bc 1 betta should have atleast 5 gallons. Get the male out or u will either have baby bettas or a dead dada
Baby bettas
A whole lotta lovin '.
