my angelfish is laying there his fins are still moving and the current is somewhat strong in my tank nitrite level was .5 for 1 day is that why? he has been very stressed lately he had to switch tanks any ideas hes not dead? but he has been twitching for a long time before this?? why?
Angel fish are very sensitive to nitrite and ammonia they cant tolerate anything other than 0
What size is you tank was it cycled what are your ammonia readings?
Why is your Angel fish stressed i have huge filtration in my tank with my angel fish i have multiple breeding pairs and they don't care for the current from the filter
Angel fish can die if they get stressed i would be doing a large 50% water change and keep doing this until you have no nitrite in your tank
Edit .. the ammonia is your problem that is at a lethal amount you get ammonia for many reasons
1 Your tank is cycling
2 your tank is not cycled
3 your over feeding
4 your over stocked with fish and you have over loaded the bio load of the tank
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com You need to do a 50% water change now and keep doing 50% water changes until the reading is at 0
U have an ammonia spike, maybe u overfeed/overstock and the angelfish is suffering although it looks like he's just laying at the bottom.
tell him to get a better job or at least one he likes better so he does not get so stressed, he might be takeing a cat nap for all that swimming ..
