Could I keep 9 glofish in a 12.5 gallon square tank?

or is that too small? A friend is selling a beautiful 12.5 gallon rimless rounded glass tank but I am not sure if 12.5 gallons in a square shape is large enough for 9 glofish. Any suggestions?
9 GLO-fish would be the max for that size tank, and it must be fully cycled to support that number. Just dropping 9 into a new tank will be fatal. But once the tank is properly established they would be OK.

If you aren't going to do a full fishless cycle, just add 3 and leave them there for a few weeks, then 3 more, then the last 3 after about 6 weeks.

Absolutely not. Depending on the species of gold fish (Common or Comets need about 75 Gallons a piece), while Fancys need about 10 Gallons per fish. So If you want nine fancy gold fish then you'll need about 90Gallons for them. 100 would be better. If you want to keep a 12.5 Gallon tank look into other fish such as Platy, Guppies, Female betta, small minnows (Like White clouds), tetras, rasboras and so on.

Oh sorry I read GOLDfish. But you can absolutely keep Glofish in a twelve gallon. Just make sure you get 6-8 of them since they are genetically modified Danios; a schooling fish.
Yes you could, i think some people are thinking you said goLdfish, not glofish. you want at least a gallon per each one so yes you can have 9 as long as you have a filter. however, they are very expensive so keep that in mind.
i think you should only keep 6 at the most, 2 of each color should work fine. If you want 9 you should get the 21.5 gallon tank
Yeah that will be OK. 9 will Fully Stock u though.

Ur gonna cross the border just for 9 fish? Wow. Hope they all make it=]

OW, do what Ian said about cycling the aquarium fist. Since you are crossing the border (lol) you probably wont want to add them so slow. Just Cycle aquarium before adding fish.
