its a 40cmx25cmx26 cm tanks (26L) rectangular.
I dont overfeed them, even if i do i have a leopard pleco in it and i know it will outgrow the tank and I will remove it if it goes bigger. Im housing 3 platies and 1 swordtail. I know some of u might say 3 platies is more then enough for my tank, but a swordtail and a pleco? u must be nuts, I know that swordtail requires a 15 gallon but they seem to be living OK.
I cycled my tank with the 3 platies and 1 swordtail, and they survived the cycle. Its about 1 month + and no fry=(. Temperature for them are 26C-29C, it goes down when i on my air conditioner and goes up when i turn it off, room temp 27C + lighting=28-29C
Its not planted, and my gravel are medium sized rocks, isit a good idea for me to change to a small and black gravel? So it would look nice. I want to make my tank a planted tank with grass as a bedding and some plants . But im not really sure whether i need CO2 for it, and i think im gonna get the fert and proper lighting for it. Right now i am using a 14 watt fluorescent hang-on-back light.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com The foods im feeding my fish are algae wafers (for my pleco but the others nibble on them too and they seem to like it very much), dried bloodworms, flakes, pellets (tiny suitable for guppies).
Im planing to make a automatic gravel cleaner the 1 that is used with an air pump.
Im not really sure why im asking this question but I would love to hear the comments that you all have. Cause im not really sure what Im doing is correct and this is my 1st tank. Im planning on making rock caves that i saw at www . tropicalfishkeping.com, those are very cool idea's that they have and I hope that I would success in this hobby.

It seems like under the circumstances you are doing a great job. Do you know how to sex the platies, it is pretty easy, the males have a modified anal fin, called a gonopodium that is used for breeding, the females just have a normal triangular anal fin. You shouldn't need to upgrade your lighting at all if you want to do plants, and you shouldn't need Co2 either, as long as you go with low light plants such as Java Moss and Java Fern, they are beautiful plants and very low maintenance. I would try to get a larger tank, at least a 20 gallon if you have the room for it, and a heater as well. What you are feeding sounds just about perfect, it seems like you did your research. sounds ok but i had a leopard pleco in a 20 gallon tank and i felt sorry for him being in it when he was only 4 ", he now lives in a 65 gallon tank and he is nearly 8.5 "
Swardtails need to be in a group of 3 at least. They don't school, but they are still group fish. Yours is stressed from small space (they grow 3-4") and lack of company. The Pleco needs 20 gallons now to honest.
The fact that you ask is a good sign that you will be taking good if not better care of your fish as you learn more. Almost all fish keepers get better as they learn more about the hobby. With that said, may I suggest instead if making the 26L a planted tank, that you upgrade to a larger tank for your fish, and you can use the original one as a quarantine tank. The original tank has all the bacteria to seed the new one, so you won't have to wait long to move you fish into it. This will ensure you get to keep your Pleco as well as the others together. A nice long tank would be perfect. 60 or so Liters. This is what I did and my fish and I are glad that I did. ;-)
