I have a blue var platy from an orange calico, so it's entirely possible to have had a molly come home pregnant from a possible black male encounter at the store, or it's possible the dalmation dropped 1 before dying that has been hiding for a bit. This is how I got the blue platy. I had 2 orange calico females and a white male in my 10 gallon tank in my room while my 20 gallon in the living room was cycling, moved the platy to the 20 when it was ready and a week later saw a couple baby fish show up in the 10 gallon.
It is a black molly obviously. Yes, I have had a WHITE Molly give birth to pure black fry. It depends on both parents and their DNA strands.
