How much would this cost?
if i were to start up a small saltwater tank, like 10 gallons or smaller just to keep a few small corals in it. how much would it cost to buy everything separately like the tank, the lighting, filter, etc. if you could give approximate prices for the stuff i need that would be nice too, or if you could just tell me all i would need to start the tank up.
couple 100
It really depends. If you want all new you're looking at $250+. If you are bargain shopping and craigslist.com then you could probably get it for under $100.00 Hope this helps!
Hey i have i tank that is over 27 gallons and i have a turtle and a fish and my turtle had to get a lamp, filter, heater and those three things cost under $200 but i got the tank for free of a friend and the tank would have cost $200 but u are getting 10 gallon tank so thats around $75 so u are probs looking around $200-$350.

i did this exact thing.
well the tank its self cost about 11 dollars.
filter 20$
sand 10$
live rock 9$ each piece...so about at least 40$ for all you will need.
for the specail lighting 200$...for that small of a tank you will need the LED lights.http://www.amazon.com/Power-LED-Aquarium-corals-light/dp/B002N0MNR8 these are for a larger tank. but it gives you an idea.
depending on what corals you have you will need chemicals
calcium about 15-20.
hydrometer 9$
dechloranator9$
filter feeder food 7.50
salt 20$
heater 20$
honestly you might want to make a sump though.
good luck.
Also got to value village or good will....I found a perfect 20 gallon acrylic hexagon with canopy and stand for 40$.
it was a great buy and i see things like that there all the time.
What else you'd need: Water conditioner, aquarium salt, water testing kit, gravel....
How much it'd cost. I went shopping the other day. A 10 gal kit by Aqueon (10 gal tank, hood, heater, conditioner, sample flakes, whisper filter, plus $10 worth of free fish at store) is around $60 . If you buy things separately (better quality), around $90-120 depending on what you get (the shop clerk calculated for us).
