Can I feed my betta bloomworms as a regular food for every day?
Because he won't eat is pellet food
????!!???
sure. a variety is better, but at least blood worms are better than an all pellet diet. You may want to try some flakes, or other frozen foods like brine shrimp.
bloodworms don't fulfill the complete nutrients which is why they are called a treat and not a staple food. the pellets provide all the nutritional requirements necessary for bettas. they might become bored with pellets, which is why they like variety.
It is generally best not to. All betta owners face this pellet problem at some time, but I've been advised by various breeders to get them onto pellets. Bloodworms make great treats, but as they are freeze-dried they are quite fatty and should only be fed as treats. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
Some common reasons a betta won't eat pellets:
- They are new to the tank (most won't eat in the first three days)
- They are too cold (a betta without a heater kept at 80 will sometimes refuse food)
- The pellets are too large (try crushing them with something flat and hard)
- The pellets are not tasty enough (soak them in garlic juice or a product called GarlicGuard. This not only improves the taste but is good for his immune system)
- The betta is totally spoilt. This is my problem - I let my girl have a taste of mosquito larvae one day and now she turns up her nose at all pellets.

It is good to vary the diet, however. I can't feed bloodworms because I am chronically allergic to them, but if you can, give her a worm or two every few days. Blackworms, live mosquito larvae (easy to find in ponds), brine shrimp and mealworms can make tasty betta treats. You should also feed your betta a small amount of cooked, peeled, crushed pea every week, which will help with constipation and swim bladder problems by preventing them - always the best cure. :)

I hope this helps and that your betta takes to the pellets soon. :)

I can't see this as being a problem, but ask at your supplier, ie where you got your fish from and also i would suggest you see if they do a flake food and this instead of pellets.

I guess, yeah, but try to feed pellets every chance possible. If it doesn't work, buy brine shrimp and other foods to help in variation of diet. Maybe you can try a hunger treatment. If he doesn't eat it, then don't offer him anything else for 2-3 days. It works with other animals.

Some people feed their goldfish on blackworms only and they're fine and fat. I've fed my goldfish on mosquito larvae over the summer. They grew 2" and their coloration is better than ever. Bettas are carnivorous fish in the first place. So I don't see why not.
